Phase Two Overview
Solar PV development is growing exponentially, and it is important to be sure that the grid is prepared. This is why National Grid initiated the Solar Phase II Program. This program implemented 15 MW of solar generation with advanced inverter functionality; the largest research and development project of its kind in the United States. These “smart” inverters will allow the solar facilities to respond favorably to changes in the grid, increasing the efficiency and reliability of the electric distribution network while providing valuable industry research towards renewable integration strategies.
