In the Spring of 2024, we will be making improvements to our energy delivery infrastructure on Taft Street in West Hempstead, NY. The National Grid Main Replacement Team will also be performing upgrades in the area starting at the end of November 2023.

We are continuously evaluating opportunities to enhance the reliability of our energy delivery networks. Starting in Spring 2024 we’ll be working on a project in West Hempstead, NY to improve our energy delivery system at the corner of Taft Street and Eagle Avenue. This project will increase the reliability of the system, and enhance safety, and service to the community in this area.

Before this project begins in November 2023, the National Grid Main Replacement team will be performing a separate project replacing the gas main in the area of Taft Street. National Grid service will not be impacted by this work.

The West Hempstead Improvement Project will include roadway and sidewalk excavation, installation of new equipment and support infrastructure, pressure testing, backfill, and restoration. Traffic changes and parking restrictions will apply during construction. For your safety, please stay away from the construction site and pay attention to signs around the work area.
