Test holes for the Yaphank Upgrade Project are now complete.

This week, neighbors can expect:

  • Road restoration work on E. Main Street
  • Changes in traffic flow on E Main Street. Traffic will be impacted during road restoration. There will be a traffic flagger on-site to assist vehicular and pedestrian traffic around the work zone
  • Impacts to parking on E Main Street. There will be no parking on E Main Street near the work zone during restoration activities

Last week our crews completed test hole work, and road restoration on E. Main Street. Test holes for the Yaphank Upgrade Project are now complete. Our crews will return to E. Main Street for the start of construction in Spring of 2025.

Last week, our crews identified additional test hole locations and continued road restoration work on E. Main Street and Marginal Place. Test hole work has been extended through the end of September, after our team determined that additional test holes were needed. We appreciate your continued patience and understanding as we complete this important work.

Last week, our crews continued test holes work on E. Main Street and Marginal Place. Test hole excavations began on E. Main Street near the intersection of Marginal Place, and will make their way down E. Main Street toward Yaphank Avenue over the next several weeks.

Test holes will take approximately two more weeks to complete. Our contractor will be performing approximately 60 test holes overall in the roadway and/or grassy areas of E Main Street, from the intersection of Marginal Place, heading west towards Yaphank Avenue. Crews will also be excavating test holes on Marginal Place. There will be no interruption to the gas service for our customers.

Neighbors can also expect:

Our contractor will be performing approximately 60 test holes overall in the roadway and/or grassy areas of E Main Street, from the intersection of Marginal Place, heading west towards Yaphank Avenue. Crews will also be excavating test holes on Marginal Place. There will be no interruption to the gas service for our customers.

Our contractor will be performing approximately 60 test holes in the roadway and/or grassy areas from the intersection of E Main Street and Yaphank Avenue heading east and onto Marginal Place. There will be no interruption to the gas service for our customers.
