About the Project

Yaphank street

National Grid continuously evaluates opportunities to enhance the reliability of its energy delivery networks. Beginning in August 2024,we’ll be excavating test holes along E. Main Street and Marginal Place in Yaphank, in preparation for the regulator station upgrade project in Winter of 2025. Upgrading this important infrastructure will increase the reliability of the system and the service to the community in this area.

This work will impact parking and traffic patterns, on E. Main Street and Yaphank Avenue during work hours. Once work is complete for the day, all excavations will be secured and plated. This important upgrade is expected to be completed in Late-Fall 2026, at which any affected roadway, sidewalk, or grass areas along the project route will be restored to Town of Brookhaven and Suffolk County standards. This work will not impact service for National Grid customers. For your safety, please stay out of work zones and be alert forsigns around the construction zone.
