About the Project
The Raquette Lake Substation Project consists of the construction of a new electric substation at 132 State Route 28 in Raquette Lake, NY with the purpose of better serving our customers. Crews will install:
- Two new 46kV/4.8kV 2.5MVA Delta-Delta Pad Mount Transformers
- One 60’ direct embed wood pole
- Two 45’ distribution riser poles with load break switches
- Two 45’ poles with 2-167KVA regulators
- Two 45’ poles with 800 Amp Package A Viper reclosers
Distribution lines will then be underbuilt on the sub-transmission pole line along state Route 28. Once the new station is energized, we will retire and remove the equipment from the old Raquette Lake Substation on the school property and restore the property to grassland.
Project Benefits
- Provide more reliability and resiliency of the electric system in Raquette Lake and the surrounding area.
- Relocate the substation from the school property and nearby baseball field.
