The project will be performed under Article VII of the New York State Public Service Law.  After the project is approved, National Grid and our approved contractors will be in your area performing work necessary to construct the pipeline, including marking utilities, survey work, necessary vegetation clearing, and eventually construction. 

The project is currently in the design and permitting phase. Construction of the project is estimated to start in spring 2026 with completion estimated in fall of 2027.

The project will be permitted under Article VII of the Public Service Law, which is overseen by the Public Service Commission (PSC). See Permitting for more information.

The impacts to our customers and neighbors will be minimal.  The preparatory work will be done in the Spring of 2026, with construction following.  Most of the construction will be underground and not visible to the general public.
