About the Project

National Grid continuously evaluates opportunities to enhance the reliability of its energy delivery networks. In the coming months, we’ll be working on a project to upgrade our facility near the intersection of Mosel Avenue and Sable Avenue in Staten Island, NY. The majority of work will be done within the existing National Grid facility, however, construction vehicles and materials will be stored at the north end of the shopping center parking lot, closest to the station, and the shopping center driveway off Mosel Avenue will be closed periodically during work hours. Upgrading this important infrastructure will increase the reliability of the system and the service to the community in this area.
Construction activities will utilize excavators, vacuum trucks, and other heavy equipment during work hours. Standard work hours are from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, however, extended work hours may be necessary to complete excavations. Hours and schedule are subject to change. Construction is scheduled to begin in mid-March 2025 and be completed by Summer 2026. This work will not impact your National Grid service. For your safety, please stay away from the construction site and pay attention to signs around the work area.
