Connect to Natural Gas
Before you begin, it’s important to know that there are clean-energy heating alternatives available to support your heating needs, energy costs, and the environment.
Electric heat pumps are a smart alternative to oil, propane, electric resistance or gas for heating and water heating in any new construction or existing/major renovation project in your residential or commercial buildings. Keep your business comfortable all year long with these efficient, environmentally friendly, all-in-one heating and cooling systems.
High-Efficiency Heat Pumps
Keeping your employees, tenants, and visitors warm and comfortable is important. We are ready to help with incentives geared to making it more affordable for commercial and multifamily buildings.
If you choose to move forward with a gas service request you will need to:
Fill out our Electrification Options Acknowledgment Form (pdf) (shown here for illustrative purposes) confirming that you have received information about clean energy heating alternatives and are choosing to move forward with gas.
Ensure gas service is available in your location and if the gas line meets the distance requirements from your business. Use our Natural Gas Availability Form to confirm the availability of gas in your area and line proximity to your business. Customers in Acton, Arlington, Brookline, Concord, Lexington, Lincoln, and Newton, please check with your town’s building department before requesting a gas connection. If qualified, we will provide a quote for a service line from your selected meter location to the gas main. If natural gas is not in front of your location, we can provide a quote to extend the main to your building.
Apply Online
If you know gas is available on your street, the costs and total gas usage for your equipment, then you can apply online on our Application Portal. Please call 1-877-MyNGrid (877-696-4743) to be connected with an Account Manager who can assist. You can also review an example of the Commercial Gas Service/Main Agreement and an Account Manager can help you complete it.
