Taunton Municipal Lighting Plant (TMLP) is proposing to build a new substation on County Street south of the transmission corridor near Johnson Street in Taunton, MA, in an effort to improve electric reliability. The proposed substation would be interconnected to the overhead electric grid owned by National Grid.

The project, known as County Street Substation, will provide a new electric supply source into this area from the existing 115 kV overhead transmission lines. The new supply is needed to support continued energy load growth in the area effort to improve electric reliability.
