About the Project

In December of 2024, we begin the process of moving our infrastructure to provide for the construction of new airport infrastructure. The 130th Place Upgrade project begins with 8 test pits to solidify a design plan moving forward.  Once the project construction begins you will see excavation of the roadway, installation of new infrastructure, temporary restoration of the roadway, testing of the new infrastructure, and final restoration of the roadway. We continuously evaluate opportunities to enhance the reliability of our energy delivery networks. In the coming months, we’ll be working to allow for upgrades in the vicinity of 130th Place. These upgrades will increase the system's integrity throughout your neighborhood, improving reliability of service, increasing safety measures, increasing sustainability, and optimizing our operations. For your safety, please stay away from construction zones and pay attention to signs around the work area.

Project Benefit:

  • Offsetting and moving our utility will provide room for necessary airport infrastructure upgrades in Queens, New York.
