Tax Exempt Forms
Customers can find sales tax exemption forms by visiting the Massachusetts Department of Revenue website at: DOR Sales and Use Tax Forms | Mass.gov
Select the Massachusetts DOR form that applies to your individual situation. Fully complete the form making sure to check all appropriate boxes, then sign and date it. Be sure to indicate your National Grid customer account number.

- Self-Service Web Portal: Use our exemption certificate self-service web portal (Avalara Cert Express) to complete and submit sales tax exemption forms. Be sure to indicate your National Grid customer account number.

Qualifying Small Business Energy Exemption (*Please Note: ST-13 forms are no longer valid) |
Do not submit form ST-13. It is no longer valid, and we cannot accept it. Instead, please contact the Massachusetts Dept. of Revenue to verify qualification and receive your Small Business Energy Exemption certificate. Then call National Grid’s Customer Service at 1-800-322-3223 (for Electric accounts) or 1-800-233-5325 (for Gas accounts) to submit your exemption. Note that SBE exemptions are only valid for up to two years. |
