ConnectedSolutions
Connect to a more comfortable future and earn $25 using less energy on high-demand days.
During the coldest days of winter, demand for energy goes up—especially when homes and small businesses are heating with gas. To help you control energy use, reduce carbon emissions and manage costs during these peak times, we’re offering a special incentive through our ConnectedSolutions program. If your smart thermostat is connected to a central gas heating system, this program is for you!
Sign Up for ConnectedSolutions Gas
Earn $25 at enrollment plus $25 at the end of each gas season after the second year.
Gas season runs November 1 to March 31.
Here’s how it works:
Enroll your qualifying smart thermostat* in ConnectedSolutions and get $25.
During peak demand days, your thermostat may precondition your space to prepare it for a peak demand event and slightly reduce natural gas use for heating in winter while ensuring your comfort and safety.
As a thank you for helping curb demand and greenhouse gas emissions, we’ll give you $25 in rewards at the end of each season you continue to participate in the program, after the second year.
When you add up the little efforts and all the energy saved from you and neighbors like you, it makes a big difference in your community—and the world.
Qualifying Thermostats
ConnectedSolutions is enabled by smart thermostats connected to a central heating system. If you don’t have one yet, there are many options for purchasing a participating smart thermostat like your local hardware stores, or online retailers.
Check out this list of qualifying thermostats by program to see if yours qualifies:
- Ecobee**
- Emerson Sensi
- Honeywell Home (including Lyric)
- Lux
- Google Nest
Why Demand Response?
During the coldest days of winter homes use more natural gas than usual, putting stress on the system network. Our ConnectedSolutions gas program offer incentives for automatically reducing your homes energy use these times of peak demand.
Your thermostat may precondition your home, and then automatically adjust the temperature by a couple of degrees during an event. Most events last about three to four hours.
There are typically up to five gas-related events in the winter.
You are always in control. If an event is inconvenient for you, simply opt out of that event.
