Everhart and Gay are holding a sign that Fillmore Forward commissioned that will adorn the pavilion, thanking National Grid for their efforts and helping them to achieve their goals.
On Aug. 16, National Grid volunteers joined Fillmore Forward for a day of celebration and community gardening in East Buffalo as they built a new space and dedicated a pavilion for residents in nearby neighborhoods to plant vegetables and learn about gardening and sustainability.
The new area, which includes the pavilion that was funded through National Grid's Project C program, will ultimately provide access to healthy food for up to 200 East Buffalo families.
Fillmore Forward is dedicated to making the Broadway-Fillmore and Martin Luther King Jr. communities vibrant through grassroots organizing and public-private partnerships.
