National Grid Volunteers Donate Thanksgiving Meals to Riverhead Community
Categories:

As part of National Grid’s Season of Giving campaign several events have been planned throughout the season to give back to the community. For the 5th year in a row, National Grid partnered with the North Fork Spanish Apostolate to donate Thanksgiving meals and discuss the consumer advocacy programs they offer in the Town of Riverhead - continuing the companies Statewide ‘Season of Giving’ initiative.
Riverhead Supervisor Yvette Aguiar joined the National Grid volunteers and helped distribute food to 50 families who preregistered. Southold Supervisor Elect Al Krupski attended and donated vegetables from his family farm as he has done every year. Our friends from IBEW 1049 came in support, including Political and External Affairs Director Jerome Bost. Families received a turkey, ham or chicken, fresh vegetables including autumn squash and lettuce and all the trimmings.
“There is nothing more rewarding than giving back to the communities that we serve,” said Brian Sapp, Director of External Affairs Long Island, National Grid. “We are grateful for our partners who year after year join us for this event to make it special.”
The Season of Giving is part of the company’s Project C community commitment to support the people and communities the company serves across New York with sustainability programs, neighborhood development projects, grants and more.
