National Grid Employee Volunteers Help Transform Communities on Annual Build Day

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – National Grid employee volunteers engaged in a series of roll-up-your-sleeves, hands-on activities for the company’s annual Build Day, across New York. This initiative is aimed at making an immediate and visible impact in the local community.
Brooklyn
Friday, June 9
- National Grid employee volunteers joined forces with Little Flower Children and Family Services of New York volunteers to assist with building furniture for the organization’s Family Enrichment Center located in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
Queens
- National Grid employee volunteers joined with St. John’s Residence for Boys to construct furniture and assemble a gardening bed for the agency’s home in Rockaway Park. This collaborative effort will enhance the living conditions and foster a nurturing environment for the young residents.
Long Island
- National Grid partnered with Rescuing Families, whose missions it is to help create accessible homes for those with disabilities. Over 20 National Grid employee volunteers worked on a home in Franklin Square installing cement footings, clearing construction debris and landscaping, helping ensure safety and independence for a woman who lives in the home.
These Build Day volunteer events are a testament to National Grid’s commitment to support people and communities across New York through community engagement and neighborhood development.
