The company supported a Healthy Food and Community Resources event to provide more than 1,000 people in the Brownsville community with 54,000 pounds of fresh, healthy food.

The major food distribution event, in partnership with Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and local elected leaders, was coordinated by UA3, a nonprofit joining the COVID-19 fight to provide fresh fruit, vegetables and other healthy foods for neighborhoods that need it most.

“The COVID-19 pandemic impacted many of our local communities and it’s important for us to come together with local elected officials and other community partners to help families move forward with healthy and nutritious food,” says Renee McClure, New York Community and Customer Manager.  “Thanks to Domenick Graziani, Downstate New York Corporate Communications, who initiated and introduced us to UA3.”

Terry Yarde, also from Community and Customer Management, joined Renee in handing out bags to make it easy for families to carry their produce.  The event, at the Dr. Green Playground in Brownsville, was set up in a grab-and-go format to encourage social distancing.
